Make, Mend & Befriend. | Amesbury Men’s Shed.
Amesbury Men’s Shed is a creative community workshop where people come together to make things, share skills, and build friendships. Whether you’re into woodworking, 3D printing, crafts, or simply want a cuppa and a chat – you’re very welcome here.
Our shed offers a friendly space to work on practical projects, learn something new, or pass on your own skills. There’s no pressure, no experience needed- just the opportunity to get stuck in, have fun, and be part of a supportive group.
A Place to Connect
Our shed is about people first. It’s a place to unwind, meet like-minded folks, and enjoy the benefits of being part of something hands-on and heartwarming. Creativity can be great for mental health — and so can a good laugh over tea and biscuits.
Whether you’re recently retired, new to the area, recovering from illness, or just want to do something meaningful with your time, there’s a spot for you here.
What you can do at the Shed
We’re more than just a workshop. Here’s a glimpse of what’s on offer.
Workshop
Learn how to use different wood working tools and techniques. From turning on a lathe, to planers and circular saws.
Fundraising projects
Learn how to make hedgehog houses, bird boxes and many other wood projects which we sell at community events to raise money for Shed activities.
Upcycling & Repairs
Give old items a new lease of life and reduce waste.
Community Projects
We are proud to work on projects for our friends and businesses in the community. From planters for a community garden to public benches, you can help get involved in builds that help our community of Amesbury.
Personal projects
Have something you want to build? Need something fixing? You can bring your own projects to the Shed, and members can help each other get the job done!
Arts and crafts
Fancy learning wood pyrography or painting our projects? Maybe you are a keen crocheter, or watercolour expert? In the Shed we hold space for all craft expressions, and all are useful in creating great community projects.
Skill-sharing
Learning from each other is one of the most important (and fun) parts of the Shed. Whether it’s how to fix a toaster or building a wildlife habitat – it’s all useful life skills to have, and you will meet great people along the way.

FAQs
Do I have to be a member to use the Shed?
Yes. We would love for you to come visit us, and see what we do and whether it’s something you would be interested in. However, to be able to run the Shed and pay for the materials needed, use of the Shed is strictly for members. This is also for safety reasons as members must go through competency with the machines in order to use them.
If you allow women, why is it called a “Men’s Shed”?
We chose our name to align with the National Men’s Shed association, of which we are a member. But rest assured we are open to everyone over the age of 18. We strive to be a welcoming space for everyone.
Can my child join?
Unfortunately, due to health and safety reasons we can only allow members aged 18 and over.
